Not only are there different Mason jar sizes there are also many different manufacturers.
It will be the diameter of the mouth of the jar which will determine your lid size.
- Regular which is 2.5” also has a red R symbol
- The wide mouth which is 3” also has a green W symbol

How to Paint your Mason Jar using Chalk Paint
Spray Chalk Paint even better than ordinary chalk paint much easier to paint the jars.
You will need at least 3 coats on your mason jars and you can also distress them with sandpaper.

If you do want to use ordinary Chalk paint it can get a bit messy so be sure to have the following supplies:

And Sandpaper if you want to create the distressed look to your Jars. Firstly you need to make sure you Mason jars or glass jars are really clean use rubbing alcohol as a final clean through and ensures the chalk paint will adhere well, in fact, make sure you do this before you paint any glass jar with any type of paint.
Start painting with your brush. It will take 2 coats to get a nice finish.
Distress the jar to your liking and then seal it and that’s it easy peasy!

How to Tint your Mason Jar or any Glass Jar
What do you need to Tint Mason jars or any glass jar?
Here is a list of items you need
Mixing dishes for instance Ramekins
You can buy blue tint Mason Jars but they tend to be more expensive if you want to tint your own then read on.
The great thing about tinting your own is you can choose your own colours!
Firstly you need to mix your food colouring with a tablespoon of water. Next, add 2 tablespoons of Mod Podge to your glass jars and add food colouring mix well in the glass jar.
Coat the inside of the jar well pour out the excess and leave to drip dry upside down.
Leave them for 30 minutes and set your oven to low pop them in upside down on wax paper for 10 minutes then turn over for 30 minutes.
Once dry they should be clear if not pop them back into the oven for 10 minutes at a time till the streaks disappear.
Once you have tinted your Mason Jars they will not be safe to eat or drink out of.
How to Paint your Mason Jar with Acrylic Paint
When you start off you need to make sure your Mason Jars are super clean! Once you have washed them use rubbing alcohol as a final clean.

I mentioned earlier that you can spray paint a Mason Jar with Chalk paint did you know you can also spray Mason jars with other types of paint as well!
